Hey man, I am also from India. The best sugestion I can give it too you is that you should watch your movie at high volume (always) and piss that guy to the extreme so that he can do something with you and you should take him to the court. Trust me man ... I been through this kind of situation where a F*kin white waitress shouted at me and next thing i remember i was in a court suing that restra...and I won that case.

Man you have to be aggressive. The problems with us (indians or brown ppl ) are that we just try not to get into trouble or always be in a peaceful mood and if you look at the black ppl .. . they r aggressive.

Ohh and tell that white peace of trash to go back to europe and give this land back to natives.

But I dont disagree with you totally. I think its good to be aggressive but with some tact, otherwise it can lead to some really dire consequences. For me what has worked always in such a situation is to firmly tell the other guy that you are taking this matter to court. It has worked as a great deterrent always.....

Hey Wisernow,
I completely understand your problem as we've been in your shoes quite a few times before. When my husband was living alone in a downtown highrise apt. and had bought the home theatre system new just in a week he had a cop at his door asking either you keep the volume high enough only not to disturb your neighbours or stop using it.....yes he said that stop using it when the system was jus a week old. The lady living in the apt down had called the cop without even once complaining in person or any warning. He didnt even know who that lady was so no scope of mutual understanding.
One more time in another apt. the old lady below us came up complaining the sound from our TV is ridiculously loud with lot of thumping sound. Its the bass from the subboofer we explained her but the next day her son came up at 7pm in evening with a similar physique as that of ur neighbour yelled at the top of his voice an my husband and him had the worst ever discussion in life we've been thro. ending with we use it rarely more like never and that too at low volume. We are not the kindof people who would get involved in any kind of brawl. Going to the cops is nothing but a added tension to life and reaching for court as some advice ,well the one time lawyer fees would be more than the cost of the home theatre system I suppose. Thought may be we will have to give up on using the home theatre system any more as we like till we leave our apt. and buy a house or at least a town house with neighbours only on one side. We both are music freaks and couldnt give up with the theatre system for all so With all this we came to a median solution and decided to use the system only on afternoons and fri, sat nights too not on sunday night as people tend to sleep early for next working day. Till date we have had no more problems. It doesnt hurt to make a lil compromise if you can enjoy what you want and your movie is not ruined with any live action interruption. Also only till the system was really new we liked to watch every freakin thing with theatre effect but after some time when that new thing excitement is gone you become selective and enjoy only what should be enjoyed with that sound effect. Well all i can say is let ur neighbour know what that system is how much you like it and when you like to use it , know when he tends to sleep everyday and weekends and come up with some mutual agreement and always always be friendly to ur neighbours white or brown , you never know who can be of great help sometime.

And I thought that Cops & Police help u ,not harass u as in sadda India .Never hesitate in approaching the Authorities if u feel threatened . it works both ways -- relieves u 4 taking a preemptive stance & cautions the other guy .

And now this thread has already sprung beyond 'wisernow' .Guess every1s learning .
