Hi there,
I have applied for PR in Berlin embassy in Germany 4 months back and got a file number. So far, no news from the embassy.
I am now going back to India and may not come back. But I would like my application to be processed in Berlin embassy. My question is 'If I change my current German address to Indian address by making a written request to embassy(asking for change of address and not file transfer), will the embassy automatically transfer my file to India?'. I have a seen a couple of posts on these discussion forums, saying that the files are getting transferred automatically and is a new development.
Any concrete and reliable info. in this regard is highly appreciated. Pl. do not write if you not know for sure. No guess work please.
Berlin will most certainly transfer your file to India [despite your request not to].

Thanks a lot Massod for your answer.
But, will it be okay if I give the address of a friend in Germany and this guy will be informing me when ever there is a communication from the embassy? Also can I get the medicals done in India even though the medical papers are sent to the German address of my friend? If it works this way, I can make sure that my application will get procced in Berlin.
I have got 77 points and submitted IELTS score also( got more than 7 in all the four areas - Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing). I have submitted the police clearance certificates from all the countries where ever I lived for more than 6 months.
My concern is only about the processing time and nothing else. Berlin embassy is faster than Indian embassy as you all know.
Thanks in advance.
You can use your friend's address but REMEMBER: NEVER LIE TO IMMIGRATION!!! You have a perfect case, DON'T RISK SPOILING IT.
You can take the medicals in India.

Thanks a lot Massood for your suggestion.
You know that my case is perfect. But by giving my friend's address, I am kind of lying. Right? I am scared now after reading your response. I appreciate a lot if you could answer the following
1. Do you want me to give my friend's address or not keeping in mind all the implications? Also, do you want me to tell honestly that I am leaving for India, but giving my friend's address in Germany? Suggest what should I do?
2. When the embassy sends the medical forms to my friend's address in Germany, is it okay if I get the medicals done in India and send the reports to embassy? In that case, what reasoning should I give to embassy for getting the medicals done in India instead of in Germany?
3. When do you suggest is the right time for changing the German address to my Indian adddress, that is, what point of time during the processing is the right time? After getting medical request or after sending the medical results or when?
Thanks in advance for your help and concrete suggestions.
Vardi:
You have lived in Germany and so you know how it is like. As Masood has rightly pointed out, dont lie or obfuscate with Immigration authorities. From what you have described, you have a perfect case and dont spoil it by these stupid tactics. I can assure you from my own experiences, that Indian processing times are as fast as overseas(I lived in Singapore, Philippines for 3 years, in UK and Hungary for 2 years) and I got my case papers filed from Chennai itself and got in record time of 9 months with inteview waiver.
In any case,I would point out that with the current recessionary trends and weak economy both in USA and Canada, you should not be in such a great desire to come to this country where lot of people are without jobs for more than 2 years.Your wanting to come now in this weak economy-who can say what will be your fate?
I hope you understand the spirit in which I say all this.Keep in mind that if processed from Germany, you may again have to fly to Germany to see the immigration authorities, which costs money.
However despite all this, the final decision is yours. You alone know what action to take, in the light of your personal and financial circumstances. No one else can really advise you.
Good Luck
