Crenshaw ,

Its foolhardy 2 reply 2 ur qs .

Every1 (incl the CHC) knows that when ppl apply they borrow money from friends 2 show money in bank .So u just need a fraction as liquid .Ur statement is theory and mine is practise as always .

When a person migrates permanently he liquidates all his property . Thats where I say that 7.5 lacs is a worth of a lower middle class family also .

The point however was what portion of average successful Indians think of migrating and I d say - VERY LESS . Those days are over when 'being abroad' used 2 b a big thing !!

As far as ststistics is concerned thats ur forte .Kindly provide some countering one which u r so good at .

As per my stance --- I have already visitied Canada as u know and am in the deciding phase .Whats wrong with that ?? I have cited both +ves as well as -ves in my posts . Thats called "decision making" my dear and not flip-flop as u word.

No where have I changed my stand and still maintain that a highly educated professional doesnt deserve 2 do menial jobs as is the norm . And consultants definitely misportray the real situation by sugercoating evrything . My comments are always 2 caution the unsuspecting Immigrant who wished sm1 wud have informed that earlier . Hence come more prepared . Isnt it surprising in itself that I landed only 4 a week and not permanently --- based upon my info gathering on this forum .

And yes I do stand evry bit by my survey for a week in which I met 25 ppl if not less and they echoed their views which must be based on their own expereiences . I know it can b distorted but thats still my findings and I stand every bit by it. !!! rather than some spun - up statistics from u .

So everyone borrows money before applying / landing in Canada?

Interesting......

You said your maid probably has Rs 7.5 lacs in assets!

India has a per capita income of US$600, which translates to Rs 30,000. Even at a savings rate of 50%, it would take 25 years to build up assets worth Rs 750,000........

You made the statement! How do you justify it? On the basis of one of your 'surveys'? One of the same kind where you walked around on Toronto's streets and in shopping malls?

Would be interesting to see what positives you have quoted in your posts. Your posts are overwhelmingly negative with a sprinkling of a few positive ones.

After making a statement like '80% of professionals in Toronto work at Tim Horton's' which would dissuade any professional who is looking to move to Canada, you tell us that you are still considering!

Everyone agrees that highly educated professionals do not deserve to be in menial jobs.

The point is you said 80% of professionals are doing that.........and you had no substantiation to make that statement.

The consultants sugar coated everything?..........

Lets get this right again - You believe that 80% of professionals work at Tim Horton's, you believe that "consultant-misportrayed-dreams" crash in the first month, and many more negative comments on this site.

You have the opportunity to stay away from all of this 'madness'. Yet you still say that you are in the process of deciding whether or not you want to come to Canada........

Lets get this right again:

On the basis of meeting 25 or less people on Toronto's streets, you came up with a statistic that said that 80% of professionals in Toronto were working at Tim Horton's. You quoted that statistic on a public forum that prospective immigrants read!

On the other hand, statistics that I have quoted, to which I usually provide links, are supposed to be 'spun up'.

Very interesting.............

Guys,

Please stop this. Both of you have enough contributions on the forum to show more maturity. Like MI stated in the other thread, if you would like to argue about stats., take it offline.

Crenshaw:
i dont find any logic in your last reply . Is it fair to say , every one on average has US 600 in india. its per capita , does not include life time savings and it would be better to have a discussion here rrather than having an argument for the sake of argument

You’d have to read those comments in the context in which they were made. They were in response to a suggestion by another contributor (several posts above) that even his maid would have the funds that were necessary to meet the immigration funds requirement.

Obviously a very significant percentage of people would not be able to come up with the Rs 750k odd that are needed for immigration, which I why I made the per capita income argument.

Appreciate if you’d read the entire thread / the context where applicable before making posts of this nature.

i just think that people tend to vent out there negatives it doesnt mean that they want to pack their bags. the site used to have alot of negatives becuase of that. i think that lately it is a good mixture of success and sad stories! i am sure those who have worked hard and reach the top look at the struggling lot and say these guys should work hard too.

id just say that this country is not open minded when it coems qualifications but that means that we just have to try to get qualified again and work part time. i think that we should not stick in survival jobs because that will drag us down even further. just my 2 cents
