Crenshaw,

U know u sound like - sky is blue , sea is blue so sea=sky !!!

They call it 'fallacy' of argument .

As always if I counter each of ur points we wud have digressed much further away from the original topic again (not again ).

I will only point something ridiculous in ur post.

"The family of 4 also has to be able to show proof of funds in the amount of about $17,500 prior to being able to immigrate. That is equivalent to about Rs 630,000

India has a per capita income of US $600 a year (which translates to about Rs 30,000). As you can see a significant part of the 1 billion Indian population would not make the cut from this statistic itself….

"

Whoa !! read again what u ve written --same sky=sea argument . Look at ur surroundings in India and find how many "family of 4" dont have Rs 7lacs as their worth .I bet our housemaid has that kind of money only thing they dont have is education .

Look at any city and judge for urself HOW MANY FAMILIES DONT HAVE INR 7.5 LACS. ? The city I come from has 250 crorepatis (as per IT) ---- cmon dear Indians have good income levels these days .

And I took a conservative estimate of 15% of the poulation "fit enough to qualify" and if u just look around (and not at ur per capita stats) u ll find that 2 b true !!!

But as always u choose 2 ignore the obvious .

Talk about 'fallacy of argument'

You are the guy who said that 80% of professionals in Canada work at Tim Horton's defended it, then after some time you were not so sure.

In one of your posts on this thread, you talk about "consultant-misportrayed-dreams" (in reference to Canada), you talk about how these dreams get shattered for people within one month, yet in a post that follows you say that the 'grapes are still within catch (sic)' (in reference to your plans to still immigrate to Canada).

If things were so bad in Canada, and you want to discourage everyone else from coming here, why are you still planning to come here?!!!

Now you have come up with one more new 'statistic' that suggests that 15% of the Indian population has Rs 750,000 (including Rs 150,000 expensed in fees)! Any thoughts about this from potential immigrants who are presently in India?

Your maid also has Rs 750,000, good for you!

Just a brief computation:

If your maid has Rs 750,000 in the bank, at an interest rate of 5.5%, she'd be earning Rs 41,250 in interest per year. Chances are that's a lot more than she makes in salary!

Your thoughts on this..........

Why should be go back. It is supposed to be free country. Whatever our sucsess or failure, we will stay here till we get full return on our investment for immigration. moreover, almost all migrants resign thier job before coming to canada & you all agree that getting a job is TOOO difficult wheather it is India or canada.

Well, we were talking about liquid assets that could be shown for the purposes of immigration. Do let us know what assets you were considering when you said that your maid probably had total assets worth Rs 750k........

Oh well, oh well, statistics fail me eh? Funny that this comes from you......what's your current stand on your previous contention that '80% of professionals in Canada work at Tim Horton's'.......you said you compiled those statistics based on your one week visit to Toronto by walking around Toronto's streets. Those are supposed to be reliable statistics?

:D

..........now you suggest that 150 million Indians have assets in excess of Rs 750k, what statistical procedure did you employ this time, was it something similar to your "walking around the streets of Toronto during my one week visit to Toronto type"?

.........and you haven't clarified on your position as regards Canada. You try to advise everyone about how bad the situation is here, you also said that "consultant-misportrayed-dreams" of people "crash within the first month of arriving". Yet you still plan to come to Canada since you posted that "the grapes are still within catch (sic)" in one of your posts above, where you suggested that you still plan to come to Canada........inspite of the 'consultant-misportrayed-dreams' having crashed?

Flip-flop-flip-flop :D

Well, desi_driller, if you appreciate that it is difficult to get jobs in today's environment, whether in India or in Canada, then you should be able to understand that Canada is not that bad after all, there's no conspiracy to keep immigrants in menial jobs, etc.

desi_driller,

I wonder what field are you in when you say getting a job is 'TOOO' difficult both in India and Canada
