I have been in canada for past 8 months having travelled all over the world.

I have discovered this country in these months and I am still not able to understand this country.

I find it strange that there is nothing in this country that is really good except for its passport which has value.

The people here are rude unprofessional in work or outside ,the quality of goods suck and I fail to understand why anyone would give up a good job and come to this country for nothing.

This is the only country that charges $ 33 for forwarding your mail for change of address. This is really shocking. What kind of nonsense is this.

Eveytime I see on TV they are discussing about America. and its problems. Why dont they discuss their country problems and stop being paranoid with U.S.A

They can never be as good as USA. in terms of opportunities and culture.

This place is not for true professionals and if you look at job sector it is terrible. There are no jobs at all .People are working at factories and are treated really bad I heard.

Still people live here because their conditions back home are more worst than this.

I have met a lot of people and not one person had anything to say good about this country having lived for many years there. They were like lost souls just living for sake of living.

This country does not inspire people to do things and succeed as the system itself defeats the person.

This country is no way part of North america but reminds me of India and Pakistan.
Its the same only no pollution and roads called freeways which are always clogged and terrible.

Anyway people do live here. Thats Life I guess

The above I agree with.
The country has no pretense. It is overshadowed by USA. There is no "myth building" that has taken place say in USA (in a short time) and in other countries far behind Canada like India and china (through 1000s of years).

It can be both a good and bad thing.

So what are you trying to say Sridharm ? and how come after knowing Canada inside out in just 8 months your location states Mississauga?

There are planes going out of Canada to other places in the world isn't it so or is it that the airports are so primitive that you don't want to risk it! There is always the Atlantic or the Pacific.....choice is yours...swim away!

‘Discovered this country’ – in 8 months?

Nothing good in this country? Canada has been ranked amongst the top countries to live in per the UN Human Development Index for the whole of the past decade and more. For much of the late 1990’s it was ranked no. 1. The UN agency that compiles this number must be nuts, eh?

If you go around talking about Canada the way you do, you’re lucky if they are just rude to you!

The same goods that you would buy in the US for the most part

To come to live in a country that’s ranked among the top 10 on the HDI and that accepts immigrants.

What’s shocking? Canadapost charges $33 for the service for 6 months, whereby any mail in your name being delivered to your previous address is automatically redirected to your new address without being delivered at your previous address – cost is less than $6 per month, did you get it free in places that you lived previously?

The auto forward is not compulsory, if you don’t want to pay, have the mail delivered at the old address and enter into an arrangement where you go across regularly and pick up the mail.

They do discuss Canada’s problems as well. If you read the Toronto Star, there are regularly articles about Canada’s problems, including lately, the problems faced by immigrants.

That’s questionable. Canada has its own advantages…..

What is a ‘true professional’?

You heard. What makes you think that there are NO jobs at all?

Still people live here because their conditions back home are more worst than this.

There are many immigrants who come to Canada as a conscious decision for the quality of life that it offers….

I’ll echo something from a previous post………….birds of a feather flock together.

We’re talking about a G8 country with a GDP of over 900 billion $.

Maybe you live in a sub-continental ghetto. Try broadening your horizons.

You contradict yourself here. On the one hand you say that there are NO jobs. On the other hand you say that the freeways are clogged. If there were NO jobs, people would not have the money to buy cars.......
