Hi

I am a landed Immigrant and would like to know

1 What is the legal way of crossing the border (staying in Windsor and working in Detroit ) . Do I require a US H1 visa for this ?

2 For canadian citizen what is the difference in above case

Looking for some govt. website talking about these topics.

You will need some type of non-immigrant work visa - H-1B, H-2, L-1, J-1, etc.
