I have pop ups blocker and fire wall installed on my computer.
But I do not know from where same pop-ups keep on coming and I have to close each time.
Computer experts - how to get rid of these pops-ups permanently.
Thanks
First step.. get Microsoft AntiSpyware tool and run a spyware scan..
pop-ups may come from applications which are running in the background.. and they will come even if you have pop-up blocker in your browser..
also, some websites know ways to get around the pop up blocker.. there is nothing much u can do about those websites..

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
I stopped using IE.
Dowlaoded Spybot and ran it. then got Mozzila. About 90% of the popups have gone. The other 10% also dont come up all the time.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

Thanks for the reply.
1. Which browser are you using? If IE or NS, then get rid of those. Get onto Mozilla FireFox, you will love it. Mozilla FireFox has option to switch off pop-ups in its 'Tools' option --- I am using IE
2. Are the pop-ups you are getting have certain pattern? What is that? It is possible that your browser is hijacked! --- Pops were same each time, "Casino Play" or "You have defects on your computer please correct it". -- I always ignored it and shut these off
3. Are you having any anti-virus software on your PC? - Norton Anti Virus (Updated regularly)
4. What kind of sites you visit and download files, play importance in deciding if your PC is affected by Trojans. - I never downloaded any files from any website unless I know of website such as my professional websites.
Also, I downloaded Microsoft Spyware - That is of some help for now atleast.
