Lol ! Good counter question :).

This discussion will not end, it would be interesting to know the decision OP takes and how Canada fares for them.

@OP : Please do keep us all updated.

Lol ! I am just trolling.

OP and her husband won't have any issue in getting a job and settling in Canada :), especially since they are in IT.

Professionally there won't be any issue, whatsoever. Both of them will have a minimum $ 60 K job each, and if lucky much higher than that.

If they can handle the harsh winters and are social and outgoing in nature, the personal aspect like friends, social life will also easily be taken care of.

Within a month they will get used to the system like banking, public transportation, groceries, apartment, internet, shops, utilities, cell phones.

Driving and Car will take some time, especially winter driving.

Networking is the key for that, otherwise things can and will get lonely pretty soon over here, irrespective of how much money they are making or saving. Both work and life balance is important.

Wanted to take your suggestion : We(My husband and I) have 10 years of experience in IT in India. We have received provincial nomination from Nova Scotia and our PR application is in processing status, we are hoping to get Canadian PR soon.

We do not have job offer right now, we will move there and find jobs.

We are confused whether to make move to Halifax as we have heard job opportunities in IT are less there. We have a 2 month baby as well and I intend to take sabbatical for 1 year at least.

My husband is in core technology and works on Big Data, Hadoop and Java.
I primarily work on SAS and Data Analytics.

Will it be a good move for us and will it be easy for us to get opportunities there?

Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Natasha

You have no issue job wise. Within a month or so, both of you will get job offers in IT. Maybe not the exact same level and position as in India, but atleast in your field.

Once your foot is in the door, you can move up later on. Or put that as Canadian experience on your resume, and change jobs for more salary and better position. Even if you are at home taking care of the baby, you can get some work from home contract opportunities in IT, to keep yourself busy and occupied and busy.

Come with 6 months living expenses and you won't have any financial pressure initially, while you are settling in. Medical is free, but most provinces the first 3 months or so as an immigrant you don't get free medical or health card, so get proper medical insurance covergae for the first few months, especially since you have a small baby. Lot of flu cases in Canada during winter.
