Also how do you find Canada as a country to migrate, I just wish to ensure that we don't repent on our decision post moving? Feeling very anxious and confused right now.

Natasha

If both you are well placed in India and work in IT, don't even think of coming to Canada. Getting a job in IT won't be an issue though in Canada, There are lot of other issues though.

What are the other issues you are talking about?
Whoever I talk to gives me positive feedback about life in Canada and the benefits of staying in Canada than in India like good quality free education and free medical insurance.

Madam:
There are positives and negetives.

Positives :
Good salary, good working atmosphere. No in laws to bug you, free schooling after age 5 to age 18.
able to get a loan for buying a own home. Your loan repayment per month will be rent +$ 500. So it will not seem a big outgo,
Pension plan and Employment insurance plan

Negetives:
Depressing cold
Saving potential less
COstly car insurance.
Waiting list to get a doctor or get treated for a procedure,

In short, it may do well if only one of you migrate first, get a job and then bring the other (if possible).

Daycare for the two month old baby will be $ 800 per month min. (In a desi house) and $ 1600 per month professional daycare. If your parents in India, can take care of your baby, you save that much (lot of malayalees do that in the Gulf and in the west).

I would say that if you and your husband earn around Rs 50 lakhs per year (CTC) in India, no point in coming to India. You can come here only if both your husband and your CTC is less than Rs 30 lakhs.

I would be expecting both of you to get around $ 80K each as the minimum starting salary. This would not come from day 1 and I expect around 2 month of job seach for you both.

Worst case : Put 1 or 2 month sabatical, test the waters and if you both donot get atleast 60K each job (if one person atleast 80K), you can return back to India. Treat it as a vacation.

Murali

Sure Murali, thanks a lot. I will appreciate if we can talk.

You said you will PM your number? What does that mean?

How can I get your number?

With these skills , you would not be out of a well paying job here and would earn and save more than in India...
