Hi,
Today I got the offer letter and petition from my employer from US, it was a US govt. project and I was hired by a third party company.
I went to the Niagara Falls Border to get the TN Visa; first they lost my ids (Citizenship Card). I waited 5 hours then they found that my ids were stuck in the tunnel and they sent the guy to take it.
After that they called me and start questioning who this employer is? Is he your relative? Your friend? I said no, I went for an interview in March 2005 and now they sent me the offer to join them for one year with the federal govt. project.
Then they said you went to US in March 2003 and never returned (I went to the US in March 2003, and they did the fingered print and then they gave me the ticket which I need to retuned when I cross the border come back to Canada, which I missed and retuned that to the Canadian Border, because the Canadian officials said that they will send it back to the US officials). I told the officer that I was doing the job in Canada on those periods, and these are the job letters (which I took with me to show them the three years of relevant experience). And he refuses to take it as evidence that I came back from US within six months period.
Later he mentioned that you Bachelor Degree is not from Canada (it’s from back home), so I am not going to approve your TN Visa.
His behavior was really very bad I frequently travel to US for visit purpose but never see the attitude like this before.
Before he let me go, he did my fingure prints and photographed me.
It took 8 hours for me to come back home to Toronto with no TN visa.
Now I need to know that what the best place is to and get my degree evaluated. I need to start the job in US on July 1, 2005.
I have a degree of American University in Pakistan Campus.
PS: Please also advise that what the suitable border to get the TN Visa?
Will appreciate your advise.
Thanks,

What I want to know is, does this really necessary to provide the equalancy of the backhome degree for TN purpose?
I mean to say is , under the documets from NAFTA, it says "Bachelor Degree" or "2 years of post secondary diploma from Canadian/US institure" AND "3 years relevant experience".
So, according to this, the degree doesn't really required to be evaluated, isn't it?
Can someone please confirm this to me.
Also at the Pearson Intl. Airport, where to go for the TN Visa? do I need to buy the ticket to go in and see the immigration?
Thanks

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Now after so much struggle, I finally got my TN today, they charged $74.00
1 x 50 TN
4 x 6 TD
Now the second process is I have a car here on Honda Financing, I know that I can't import it unless I paid it off, but I need to know that , Can I drive that car to US (in other words Can I drive the same car in US for six months).
If I wanna import the car in US from Canada, what procedure I need to do? What sort of Docs required?
Please advise.
Thanks,

Shyboy,
Do they ask you about property owned in Canada?
And where did you get the evaluation done finally?
I already had it done when I was in USA, I might do it again just to avoid any trouble.
