I wonder why Canadian media is so silent about such horrific crime. They are more concerned about a killer that is being released.

An innocent girl gets killed by her uncle, and nobody seems to care. THe last time I saw this news on TV, they showed that the family was in court to support the uncle, and the lawyer was talking about getting the accused free on basis of some mental balance.

I am still upset by this happening.

Just to side track the conversation.
I have a celing fan since last summer that i intended to put up on the ceiling.
Would like to know from someone who has done this.
Is difficult to put up a celing fan by one self?
I am not planning to hang myself :)

Why are you side tracking the conversation by posting the message that is totally irrelevant to the conversation?

What is your point?

Then who?

Replying to the OP:

The earlier case of the Canadian mother partying the weekend is an open and shut case since the mother has already pleaded guilty.

The current case on the other hand, is still under investigation and very little is known other than what has been written in the quoted article, which is too little to be of any significance whatsoever.

Even otherwise, the episode with the Canadian mother was of negligence towards her daughter, whereas the one with the desi family appears to be either a case of homicide or on of accidental death.

The two are totally dissimilar!

Comparing the two to draw conclusions is dumb to say the least.

While such incidents are definitely not indicative of any "culture" perhaps what was being said is that occurrances of the type mentioned are more frequent here than in India.

to crenshaw,

According to your way of thinking, is Paul Bernado & Karla Homolka the IDEAL product of canadian culture?. And would you blame the canadian culture/social outlook for the above ppls crimes?

Crime is crime where ever it happens. No where do MAJORITY ppl endorse it outof freewill.

I sometimes seriously wonder why do someppl bother to post in a desi forum if theres that much of hate in them towards the culture of south asia and use every single chance to pull it down.

I just came across a related post

What exactly is Hindu or Indian culture?
I think I have asked this before, but here it is again.
Is the nice old gentleman In Moonsoon Wedding who sexually molests children part of Indian culture?
Is the girl in the same movie who has sex with another guy just before getting married to another also part of Indian culture?
The Bollywood actress who acted with Hritik Roshan in his first movie- I don't remember the name of the movie- and has now severed ties with her Mom and Dad- is this action part of Indian culture?
Are the hot desi singles advertised on this site part of Indian culture?
Is eating Hakka noodles part of Indian culture?

Or is

Arranged marriage part of Indian culture
Going to the mandir part of Indian culture
Studying your ass off part of Indian culture
Immigrating abroad part of Indian culture
Eating tandoori food, masala dosa... part of Indian culture
