Is Passport required?

Do canadian citizen need to have a canadian passport in addition to citizenship card to cross the US border by road. We don't have canadian passport yet recently got citizenship. So are we not allowed to cross the border untill we have the passport?

To answer your question - No, you do not need a pp to cross the border by road, BUT, it would be helpful to have it. May be it's just me, but after 9/11, I've found the US officials very unpredictable. Not that they were predictable prior to 9/11 !!!
