Dear Puru,

Since u have acknowledged me as a friend, let me tell u a little secret..(whisper) I was not trying to be sarcastic when I said "congregation". The truth is there were limited words to choose from -

1. crusaders - cud not choose for obvious reasons (I know how u feel about this term - read the reactions to your post on "let's unite";)

2. supporters - With just 7 in the team cud not really say that u have support.

3. campaigners - They ought to have an organised course of action to achieve a goal. Yahan to goal gayab hai aur jab campaign hi fizzle out ho raha hai toh obviously no campaigners..

So, that leaves us with "congregation" which best describes it - "to flock or form a group". Moreover the above 3 terms r the more agressive groups whereas a "congregation" is usually the docile "me too / mera bhi naam laga de / mein bhi / sahi hai bhidu" group. A word of advice as a friend, "a flock or a group" has chances of dispersing behind the leader, leaving him alone in the race. A congregation never remains for too long !!
(whisper ends)

But still best of luck bhaiya....

Hello Friend Rajrani,

Thanks for your whispered advice. Why should't I call you a friend? You are as good a friend like anyone in this forum. There is nothing personal here. Just because you disagreed with me does not put you in the list of my enemies. It is a neutral discussion over a particular prevailing situation. So everyone has equal right to speak out. And that is called a healthy discussion. But one should always refrain from making personal remarks. Give your views; that's perfectly okay but why mock someone who you even do not know? That's not fair.Let us have respect for each other's views though we may disagree.

It does not matter by whatever name you call people who unite and fight for a common cause. That's just a petty matter of vocabulary limitations. Look all around and you will find in every sphere of life people joining forces with someone who share a common idea or platform. Be it in business, politics, professional matters etc etc.

The better word would be "Allies" since alliance is always made for a limited time period till the desired goal is achieved. In an alliance there is no leader but only allies who work collectively. Hence there is no need for any long term association or relationship.Once the goal is achieved the job is done and so no need remains for that paricular alliance to go on. Another alliance for another common cause with like minded partners could be formed in another platform. The show goes on like this always since this is life which is a journey full of unforseen events. You never know when you will need a collaboration or alliance to tide over some matter. So learn to live collectively and not always individualistically.

Best Wishes & thanks for your time

Puru

Dear Friends,

I have asked Toronto Star today whether they would be interested to publish the Memo as an open letter. I have also requested them to promote our cause. Let us wait for their reaction.

Thanks

U r posting in speak out discussion yaan u r writing direct to editor yaan maybe other route? Please letting us know.

Both routes, but still no response. They seem to be quiet at the moment. Do not worry, I will keep posting all updates.

You see I do not want our movement to become a one day story or just an article for them. They have many such immigrant stories and comments about this problem for filling up their pages. It is a routine job for them but for us it is a matter of our and our childrens' lives and careers. So let us be seriously focussed to devise ways to achieve the desired result.

BottomLine :

We need good jobs and decent living conditions for our families, not an illusory publicity.

I fully agree to your point and also like to state that the settlement services provide very little help in real job finding.Apart from that many people do not even find job after doing coop for 5 months. It is colosal waste of trained personnel who are being given visas by the Govt on the basis of shortage of trained manpower.Even very few people get help from careerbridge. There is a total rejection of the foreigntrained manpower from southasian community by the private employees.the Govt needs to do serious introspection

Definetly get word of this back home.
I have sent to a lo of people and to some who were thinking of applying for immigration to Canada.
Mass awareness is better than a meeting with the dama dol PM.
