I think this should not be suggested as a milestone. There are severe allegations in press today here in Delhi that if this is not a case of child abuse then what is? The poor boy is being made to run in severe hot and humid conditions (+42 C) and had to be hospitilized even before he could finish his so called 70 Kms run. Definitely NOT something to advise our kids to do.

I was only applauding the child’s achievements. It is certainly wrong and inhuman to push someone beyond his endurance limit.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t he escorted by a team of doctors and army cadets? Would they have allowed the boys coach to impose his decision if they felt otherwise? The kid isn’t aware of the dangers of dehydration and fatigue but why do the child welfare officials keep mum about this? Can’t they intervene because the boy has no parents to take care of him?
I wish the best for the kid’s future. May he bring glory to India when he grows up and competes in international arena.
