My point is :
this practice of mating and giving away pets (for sale or otherwise) has been going on for time immemorial.
I donot know why it is a big issue in Canada and on the CD discussion board.
I just read that 37% of people using food banks are children and the head says that it is a very disturbing trend. May be these critics should go on to help those people instead of arguing over the breed and sale of pets. Also help each and every immigrant who come to canada on the basis of points and who is unable to find a job.

Until now this was not a religious discussion and this is a secular website. Please keep religion out of it. If the above is your belief then that is valid for you however do not impose that view on others.
I think we humans can learn a lot from our fellow animals.
The animal world doesnt have corruption, greed, morality, religion and other 'human' things.
These things set us apart from animals..poor 'us'.
I remember reading a quote once - "if dogs dont go to heaven, then when I die i want to go where they go".

What has religion got to do with treating others, including animals with dignity, respect and without cruelty? Does the Bible say it's OK to mistreat others? If I remember correctly the Bible actually tells you to love "all things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small"
I'm not really sure why you posted that link.
Treating others, including animals with basic respect is common sense, and I guess a personal choice.
TK, if you truly believe that hurting/beating animals is ok, then you are entitled to that view.
