I have never claimed to have "the" solution to the problem....but have only chosen to oppose a solution that I m convinced is wrong.....
The "solution", or rather the means being discussed here, do not address the problem head on (for you violence and might may be the "most" direct and only recourse), but only attempt to treat the symptoms......
(just so that you don't miss it again, "attempt" is the keyword !!!)

Sigh! You have(misinterpreted me) and that is the reason I did not bother. All my writings have said that it is a 'sacrifice' I am making. A compromise on my ideals in the face of a greater threat. I do not like to be stopped at the airport due to the color of my skin....but I dont mind taking the hit, to ensure that they do it when my wife/kids catch the flight, so that they are safe, from a brown guy who wants to blow them up.
In an ideal society no ones rights would be violated nor would any Mohammeds be supporting the terrorists or making excuses for them either. There is no BUT when it comes to bombing a place in TO or Mumbai, Spain or UK.
Like I said in the other post...the change has to be all around. If you can ensure that change then there will be no need for anyones rights to be violated OR any trains to be blown up.
Else all we can do is prevent a disaster....or try. Id rather try.

Good you have admited that....So you have no clue for a solution . You make no effort to provide one either. You just 'know' that any solution that does not give you 100% results is wrong. Ok..since we are past sniping I'll let that go.
Lest we go in circles...let us then talk about the 'issues that prompt those heads to rise up'. What are these issues? Name them and propose a solution(and it does not have to be 100% unlike your demands
)...I'll do the same if I feel like.Azazf has posted a mail on another thread about a likely solution(not 100%) to one likely issue(Kashmir). It showed some strong decisions on his part...and a lot of compromise. I have a lot of respect for that (not that it should matter to anyone). Maybe you can do the same and we can all get along

may be you are making a compromise but me and bunch of others are not going down without a fight. i feel like a revolutionary already.

It depends who is the mohammed and from who he is taking aim at. bhagat singh and chandrashekhar were also probably the mohammeds from the point of view of the britishers werent they.

an eye for an eye might be appropriate under certain circumstances but neither religion permits innocents being butchered and for the record my religion says so too............for the ignorant fools out there who think otherwise.

Also make sure we keep our house safe first before going out to protect the others and spread democracy. You are not trying...........you want to think by letting the government do what it deems right you are. Those idiots overpayed as they are will never get efficiency on the table. We still have as many unsolved murders as we did years ago even with the so called modern technology so what makes you think this snooping around will change anything. At a personal level, I'm against any infringment on my privacy that I think will carry more abuse than benefits. And that's my problem with blanket monitoring of everyone's internet use, I feel this has the potential for a lot more abuse than use. Its a wide net that will catch a lot of innocents whereas the pros may slip through.
But that has nothing to do with how I feel about terrorism. And I can only laugh when I hear that addressing the issues of the terrorists will fix terror.
So make me understand. Which "issues" need to be addressed so that the Extremists / terrorists will put down their weapons and start contributing towards a world that's a habitable place for everyone, irrespective of religion?
Really...go forth and spell it out.

Do you really think that the terrorist issues we have been having in India would be non existent or of a different kind if the kashmir problem was solved when it became a problem. If the answer is yest then you are addressing the issues of the would be terrorists.
