Relocating to Ottawa

Any input on Indian community in Ottawa.
Places for a long term stay: Decent or Half decent accommodations, bachelor suites with cooking facilities, Rents, Commuting subway or ground transportation etc. and general cost of living.

No idea about the community.

Place to stay: I would recommend Sunview Apartments if you are looking for a place to stay. It is at the intersection of Carling avenue and Grennon. The bus stop is right besides the apt. It is close to the nice parks, close to the Lincoln Heights shopping centre (you can walk in summer) and the Indian grocery store is just a 5-7 min walk. It is also close to the bayshore mall.

The apt quality is not that great, but location is very good and that makes the overall rating good enough to stay - especially for a newcomer or if you do not have the car.

Mohan,

Depends on where u r from. South indian community is pretty much devided on the language lines (some cases caste also). Buses are great. I take everyday. Let me know if u need mroe details.
