Why do you say so ? I mean is there any official web site that says so ? If so, pl let us know the link. I would think otherwise that single entry means you can enter once in Canada. OR is it an exception if entering from USA ?
Why don't your parents try getting a US visa from India before coming to Canada?
Thanks, interesting - that is something new I learnt.

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
Guess it does not matter if you travel by air or road .... go to http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK and check in the visitor to Canada sections FAQ's where they clearly mention that you can cross over to USA on single entry visit visa without getting a new visa.

Hi
I am just gonna tell you my mom's story and hope it helps you.
Mom came here in 2006 on a 2 year multiple entry visa. Applied for a US visa in Toronto and got it for 10 yrs. Mom left canada end of 2006. Came back to Canada 2 months ago, just 3 days beofre the original Canada visa expired. Mom can stay in Canada for 6 months though her Canada visa expired. She can visit US and come back into Canada without problem for this 6 month period. but if She leaves the North American continent then She cant come back to Canada without getting a new canada visa.
thats my mom's story.
Cheers

Thanks to everybody for their responses. Here is something interesting that i found. I was talking to a friend of mine in India who came to US & Canada last month for a visit. He is in posession of 10yr. multiple entry US visa but he only got 6 month single entry visa to canada. He landed in US first and then came to Canada. While entering in Canada he asked from canadian immigration officer if he can come back again in Canada couple weeks later and got a reply no because his visa only allows him to enter once. I called CIC to find out what the reality is and the agent who i talked to told me that yes somebody who has single entry visa to Canada and also a valid US visa can travle as many times as they want between both countries. I asked her if this is true than why did immigration officer told my friend that he can't come back to Canada 2 weeks later. Her reply to me was that even though there is an agreement between US & Canada on repeated entries but still final power is with the immigration officer. If they want they can decline second or repeated entry into Canada.
