Hello All,
Can some one in the forum, throw some light into;
1. what exactly is covered under OHIP when it comes to dental treatment ?
I have gone through the websites but am not able to conclude anything in particular, item wise 1.2.3. on what is covered, and what is out of pocket meaning I/we have to pay.
Any personal experience shared here is also appreciated.
Thanks
VN
If you are not a minor (below 11 ) or a senior, nothing is covered.
However, if you get admitted in the hospital emergency for some accident of the mouth (like teeth broken by falling down and you are in terrible pain) then the hospital can treat you free of charge.
Cosmetic dental surgery / work is no way covered by OHIP anytime.
However, if you visit Univ. of Toronto dental college, the there is subsidy to have your dental work done by the students under the guidance of the professors. These days, even that has a big line up.
This is in a nut shell. May be individual experiences may vary.
