I am pretty much in a similar position, but relocated from Ontario. I am from B'lore (if it isnt a problem for you though), I guess it doesnt make a difference to make friends from other parts of India.

how are u? so what part of ON did you move from, i would say that was a very nice move since now you wont have to see the severe weather in BC anymore since it doesnt snow i guess there at all, i am planning to move to Vancouver pretty soon as well, if you can guide me thru regarding jobs market, good places to stay, apartment rents and all that would be great i would really appreciate your help, also i am coming for a visit to vancouver on Feb. 29th if you wont mind we can meet for a coffee or something, please do reply soon.

The weather is way better, rains a lot though. Over the last couple of days.. had a quite a bit of snow..

Apartment rent varies .. in Surrey you can get 1 bed room for about $ 700 - $ 800 and 2 bedroom about $ 1000 / month. I haven't checked on basements so far but should be cheaper by about $ 150 - $ 200 respectively.

Job market.. . moved here because of the job... so cannot comment on that. I think depends upon what you are looking for ? Mfg is not as much as you see in Ontario. What kind of job or the field you are looking for

Ash20 has replied to ur mail on cust service, No problems in meeting you. How long would you staying in Vancouver ?... the reason being I may be travelling on work .... but at the max it will be for 3/4 days at a stretch.
