Gr8 Joke buddy!!

If that is true, Bhajji should have admitted to the match referee what he said.

That way, he would have insulted Symonds adequately and would not have been charged with racial abuse.

He would still have been charged, but that's a different story.

At least we would have had the satisfaction of translating for Symonds and all the Aussies in very explicit terms what was said.

In a leaked copy of his report on the hearing, Procter says: "I have heard evidence from Andrew Symonds, Michael Clarke and Mathew Hayden that he did say these words. Harbhajan Singh denies saying these words. Both umpires did not hear nor did Ricky Ponting or Sachin Tendulkar. I am satisfied and sure beyond reasonable doubt that Harbhajan Singh did say these words.

"I am satisfied that the words were said and that the complaint to the umpires, which forms this charge, would not have been put forward falsely, I dismiss any suggestion of motive or malice."

As far as Australia is concerned , this was the "easy"part of the tour. Now the real games start, the team they are facing in the 20-20 & one dayers is totally different from the one they have played this past month.
The new team is rearing to "give back" ...... with Sreesanth, Uthapa, Yuvi, sehwag making their intentions known .... it will be fun to watch how Aussies handle it from here.

It was very obvious outcome - we Indians always look at the 'middle' road of settlement instead of fighting for justice.

Even though Symonds agreed he was the cause of provocation, no one even bothered to fine him, charge him or even request an apology. While Bhajji for 'reacting' to his provocation is charged with 'racism' and our baord and players are HAPPY with the 'compromise' that he is fined only 50% match fee...conviction is a conviction - 50% ot 1% makes no diffference. 'Compromise' for NO FAULT of his making (atleast it seems that way).

The 'KING DEAL MAKER' Bindra and over the top Lalit Modi made things more obvious by linking the whole episode to 'financial' implication if the ban is not lifted. No wonder the whole world will look at BCCI as the villian even though it should have been the other way around.

http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ausvind/content/current/story/334084.html

"Bindra, who arrived a week ago, is a veteran deal maker with vast experience in negotiations"...

Modi said. "We sincerely hope there is no impact [on their involvement in the IPL]," he told the Sydney Morning Herald. "It will be for the team owners to decide. But there definitely will be some casualties from the feedback we are getting."

"Symonds, incidentally, admitted to provocation, as he had at Sydney"

I believe Dalmia would have taken a different approach.

Hiren.

BCCI councel VR Manohar started with Symonds asking: What did Harbhajan call you?

"A big monkey," Symonds replied. "He kept repeating monkey, monkey, big monkey.

Manohar: What were the exact words?

Symonds: I don't remember.

Manohar to Hayden: Did you hear Harbhajan call Symonds a big monkey?

Hayden: I didn't hear him, but I heard Symonds say "Did you call me a monkey?" So I told Harbhajan "that's the second time you have said it. It's racial vilification."

CA legal team to Harbhajan: Did you call him a big monkey or make any racist comment?

Harbhajan: No, I did not (firm in his reply).

CA legal team: What exactly did you say?

Harbhajan: I admit that I abused him and said "Teri Maa Ki..."

Justice Hansen: What is the meaning of this slang?

Harbhajan: It means "Your mother's ****"

Justice Hansen: In that case it's a case of abuse but not racial abuse.

Three weeks of drama ended with Harbhajan's half a day's pay and a lot of sleepless nights.
