ICICI BANK- SOME SERIOUS PROBLEM

Hi CD members,
I do know of poor cust. service of this bank, problem I am referring is more serious than this, I happened to check my account in more details for the year end accounting, I was infact shocked , the credit and debit entries are simply interchanged, and I am totally at loss to figure out how the entire account is balanced, and this problem is compounded as I am having 4 accounts of all my family members and similar mistakes in all.
I request you all members who have their account to please probe in detail in their account and check for such accounting mistakes.
I also seek guidance and suggestions from you as to what action can we take in order to straighten this issues.
I called in thier 24 hrs call centre, and the guy responded that as their system is down for routine maintenance they are unable to help me on this matter , and they shall get back to me on this at a later time tomorrow

But I didn't find any problem with my accounts

I may have to check, but it looks okay as of now

In our case, they unilaterally and mid-stream decided to change the account from a joint account to a single account. To change it back required the forfeiture of all of the gains made and re-start the investment. And talking about the system - it seems to always be down. The call centre can NEVER EVER do anything. I am convinced they don't have a computer in the whole damn place. Instead they have those bi-speckled bookkeepers pouring over hundreds of account books.

Why you guys have an account with this 'Pathetic' bank? I really fail to understand. I mean, come on. Each one of us know how degraded their service has become. Get on with any Canadian Banks. I have had accounts with 3-4 Cdn Banks and trust me, the customer service is pretty good with them. Go to SBI or ICICI and you are left with the bitter taste in your mouth.

Time is ripe to change your Banks.

Had this problem with them way back in 2004. CS did squat. Had to walk into the bank where I had opened the a/c- at that time they did not have the online a/c system- to sort it out.

If you have opened your a/c at a branch- best to go in there and sort it out.

Just for some clarification are you referring to ICICI bank Canada's account or is it some account held in India?

On the same note , I faced some real difficulties and brow beating while transacting with some nationalized banks in India on my recent trip more in the areas of foreign remittances . It was a tiring & trying experience to get things done --- so much so I wish to shortlist a few banks (in India) who provide better service .

I was counting on ICICI (as many in India had recommended) but I am forced to think again upon reading this post ....

Would CDs recommend some banks in India who provide better service ??
