possible Driving License issue ?

Hi

could some one tell me whether may i get poblems in obtaining Driving license in CANADA if i have some bad Driving history in USA ? ( i got few speeding tickets, redlight photos, and few other ....accidents . But everything is paid off properly. But it was there in Driving history.

Obtaining a cdn drivers licence will not be a problem if you have a US drivers licence. Your driving history might get transferred to Canadian DL though (I am not sure, but it is a possibility).

When you apply for transfer of your US DL for canadian DL, the only issue that effects the CDN DL are any pending suspensions on your US DL. All bad driving records are the concern of the Insurance company.

You may want to call Drive Test Canada and check. Depending on which US state license you have and to which Canadian state state you are moving to, points may get transferred. ON has some sort of agreement with NY etc. to have points transfer. I believe these agreements are only there with neighbouring states.

You can call Drive Test office and ask - that way nothing is recorded against you in any system.

get a driving licence is no problem.
however if you wanted to insure a vehicle, your past infractions have a way of following you wherever you go.
