If any employer refuses to issue T2200, even though there are employment related expenses, can anything be done? Being an ex-employee, not having much success through talks!!

Hi,
Here is a quote:
""Ordinarily, (a) above necessitates that there be an express requirement within the terms of a written contract of employment. Nevertheless, such a requirement for the payment of office rent, supplies or salary to an assistant or substitute may exist where the taxpayer can establish that it was tacitly understood by both parties (the taxpayer and the employer) that such payment was to be made by the taxpayer and was, in fact, necessary under the circumstances to fulfill the duties of the employment.""
Then you can do the same as the other contractors, that you know, at your work place.
You may be an Employee 'similar' to another one who works for the SAME Employer and he might have a copy of the contract that he uses for his employment expenses and deductions.
Get a copy from him and see what all he deducts from the income and get all of the details from him or get hold of his accountant if he is willing to provide you with his name. You can use him too and pay for his services.
You did not mention The Type of work you do, and if you did, some one who is in a similar profession like yours' would have jumped in and helped you long time ago.
If you are a contractor, most of the IT workers would have jumped in and told you how they go about it. Also call the Tax People and get some directions from them. They are the ones who audit your expenses. Also they have seminars on small businesses at their offices from time to time. Go for one of them.
Hope this helps.
Freddie.
Thanks Freddie. Yeah, I am an IT contractor... Anyways after much persistent discussions, the HR promised to send me the form in the next couple of weeks... Waiting for that now
