What is the difference between US and Canadian Indian kids especially who grew up here?
This year spell competition winner (I think number 2 too) is American desi. Geography competition is also winning by American desi from Lincoln Nebraska. We are noticing from many years that Indian Americans kids are really good in academics/research/top universities. I knew few of them who passed out from Wharton and Columbia as MBA/lawyer.
Why are Canadian kids not having that performance level? But we hear about Indian kids in drugs/fight especially in Vancouver area.
I think same pattern holds true for Chinese and other Asian too?

I would say it is because of your lack of knowledge about it ........
Chinese kids especially have been known for their academics in Canada. As you can read here http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/May2008/30/c6261.html ... out of 6 there were 4 people with asian origin.
Do you know the winners of spelling bee here in Canada to make a statement like that?
Indo-canadians have been in almost every field in Canada, but for some reason you find a lot of them active in politics. We had a premier for BC much before there was a governer in US from Indian background.
