Hi this is Mushtaq Working in Abu Dhabi UAE. I am planning to drop my family in toronto as we all have PR status. I will be going back to UAE for my job. Like to know few things as i found this site to be very proactive and helpful in all needs.
1. I heard there is a place in Toronto called Begumpura where all the Gulf Residents drop their families and husbands work back in Gulf. Need the Exact Location of this place.
2. After dropping my family they will be having transporatation problems. How to manage the taxis since i didnot see any taxis near the shopping centre until you call them.
Appreciate you responses. Thanks
It is apparent that you do not know who they are and from where they are and where their spouses are, there, next to you in the middle east. If you did, then you would have known their location and an introduction to them too.
Canada is made up of all religions, sects and different denominations. But I feel most of us have shed that. It takes time. I hope you do too and over come those difficulties. Here is a link to the article that I got on the net dated long ago. And here are some more facts under this link.

Engineers and computer-programmers are facing problems. Many of those who acquired immigration to Canada were careful not to resign their jobs in the Middle East. Thus, after spending a few frustrating months in Canada looking for a job, they have left their families and they themselves returned to continue to work in the Middle East. Over the years, a pattern has emerged. People have a tendency to congregate with those they are familiar with. Some of these "Middle Eastern" families settled in apartment buildings in Mississauga, a western suburb of Toronto. Others followed suit. Now there is an entire locality in Mississauga where buildings are literally full of wives and children but no husbands or fathers. The locality has been appropriately dubbed "Begumpura"! (City of Wives).
Not just Pakistani community is concentrated in some localities of Mississauga. ONE of these is called "Begumpura". The economic stringency has forced several men to leave their wives and children behind and to go to the Middle East to earn a living. Common predicament has compelled the Begums to flock together to form that Begumpura. You will have to find your people all by yourself, because I know that you are choosy in selecting them.
If your sole problem is finding a suitable mode of transportation and it just happens to be TAXI's, then you can come down and settle down any where here in Canada. You don't have to go to this place you are looking for. You want to know why? Don't you? They are operating two fleet of taxis all over Toronto and Mississauga and they are from your area. After you get out of The Pearson Airport in Toronto, you are on the highway to your destination and it is about 20 Kms from there and any taxi will take you to that location. As I write this to the web, the industry is facing a crisis and will slowly but surely close down too when their usage of the taxis going down. Even they will become scarcer.
