Hi,

Please advise ..

My wife is pregnent and we have sent invitation letter for my sister so she can help us during the deliver- which will be C-section as per doctors reports.

We have sent our PR status, bank details with enough fund, travel arrangements and Doctor reports also, but at Delhi they have refuse, just saying that my sister s Travel history is nil and she do not have strong reason to visit.

Now I am alone and in July my wife has to go for delivery......... Is there any thing can be done from Canada to get my sister soon, or we can claim some help from the Govt.

thx

I am providing here with a link to the Organization called 'the Doulas'. They are a group of local midwives, who will help in times of need. They will also show you the correct local practices as to how to bathe the baby and feed etc., and also will provide you with prenatal and post natal care too. You have to talk to one of them and get all of the details and see if they are covered under the OHIP plans.
Since you say it will be a 'C section' delivery, discuss this with them and also with the hospital that you both have chosen to go to for the same. Provide them with all of the details when you discuss this in confidence. You will benefit a lot by this. Do read this web site and make up your mind before you talk with them.

Sorry to hear that they turned down the request for a Visa for your sister.

Every thing will fall in its place. Also discuss about the Maternity and Paternity leaves with the employers. Some employers will provide you with a few weeks break with pay. Here is the http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/lp/spila/wlb/wppp/02leave_benefits.shtml#paternity

Hope this helps a little.

Freddie.

Did you send a Note from Doctor, on Doctor's letter head, with his stamp/sign?
Along with medical reports, send a letter from doctor stating that your wife will need help with newborn and so you want to call your sister. Get her passport number mentioned in the letter +DOB +POB.

This is what i had sent when i had my deleivery last year. The doc charged $20 for this but this was the only document which I sent. Rest my mom showed her own bank statements/property etc and got her visa within 1 week.
Don't worry everything will be just fine and start preparing to welcome your little one!

It might have helped ... but applying for Visitor Visa is more or less like buying a Lottery Ticket.

1 + 1 is not always 2 in this case.
