No experience with Pearl. Yes, Google is the tool.

Are you on Data Plan (browsing) with Rogers on contract? Is data plan binded to your phone number or IMEI Number? I am sure it is IMEI ... If it is IMEI number then don't bother unlicking it as the number will change and so as validity.

Actually there is much more to it. I hope you know and have considered that.

Is your phone is locked to network provider then you can easily unlock it using codes.If your phone is old model,then you can unlock it using http://www.unlocking4free.com/" target="_blank">Unlocking4free.com .Here they generate codes to unlock some older mobile models at free of cost.

I usually find cheapest unlock codes on ebay.com not .ca
