Anyone on this forum a member of Direct Buy? Their TV Ads show people saving thousands, Was keen to know if anyone on the forum or someone known to you are members and the veracity of their Ads.

There are other local artisans who will be able to help you with modifications and upgrades to the existing cabinets. Price them first and pay the labour.
Some of the builders provide you with the options of purchase at that location, Direct Buy. Home builders are a different kettle of fish. They price them in the building costs. In the show room the grains structures of the wood are defined and clear. It is eye catching. But in the delivered materials you may have to return a couple of times for better materials. I look for symmetry and no knots. They also have the computerized colour schemes to play with. That is an added advantage. They fit in a location perfectly.
In my books they are a tad expensive, but has good workmanship.
I think we pay for the convenience and the display.

Their membership fee is 3.5-5K per year. Just imagine how much you will need to buy to even save the memb. fees!

I know a person who got this membership - he got a basic configuration house from the builder and performed upgrades worth 80k after that (plus he bought all new furniture for his five bedroom 3400 sq ft home). He claims he did save a lot of money and the membership was really useful!
I think it works out only if you are planning to buy a lot of stuff! Definitely not worth if you are spending 5k or less in purchases.
I have also heard that people team up to get one membership and share the membership cost.
