IMHO, OLG should pay up... but wanted to see what others thought...

I think so too.
I was listening to the callers to AM 640 this morning and every one agreed that he should be paid in full.
But the host of the show told us that OLG will try to intimidate that man (who lives in a basment and has some child support arrears) to accept less , say 50K. OLG would do that so as not to set a precedent.
Some useful points discussed were :
1. OLG may try to show him 50K $ all in $5 notes and try to intimidate to accpet it. They have called to see him and discuss with him today.
2. The printing company would have an insurance and hence the insurance would pay and not the OLG
3. If it is a legal case that the case may drag on for 2 or 3 years and then he may get the money. So not worth the hassle.
4. Some companies who have a grudge against OLG may pay him the full money first and then do a legal battle with the OLG and try to destroy its reputation (RIM was given as an example).
Hope some one helps him to get the full money that he so rightly deserves to get.
