When I entered my house today, the trouble light started bipping. When called the voxcom they told they will need to send a service technician since they are not receiving signals. A fees 0f $35 will be charged. On top of it, the technician is available only on 5th March. So that means I will be out of monitored security. (May not be a big deal and these services are not reliable anyway, but it takes only one time).
Has anyone recently come across this problem? Ever since the Voxcom is taken over by some other company these problem started.
Not sure if other services are doing any better or have similar problems like ADT, Brinks etc.
thanks for bringing up this issue OP. I have been looking for a good security system myself...I have called almost all of these companies...my best experience in getting info over the phone was with Alarm force, person explained everything very nicely.
....voxcom always has overflowing lines, the answering service takes your ph # so someone can call back but have never recvd a call back.
....ADT keeps transfering to their different offices in US for every question I ask & then finally after 2-4 transfers they want to book an appointment for someone to come & see the site first !!!! before they can give me basic info about their rates & how their system is more effective than others.
....same thing with Brinks, can't get through their ph line.
I wonder how do these companies handle emergency situations when this is how they handle the sales & customer service.....leaves you wondering, may be you are just another # on the list that they would like to get the business from, without even working hard for it.
I will keep a close eye on this thread......I request anyone/everyone who would like to share their good or bad experience to help OP and also for me to be able to make a better choice.
Thanks

The initial response from VoxCom was good. But recently this one was bought over by some other company. I heard same complain from one of my colleague as well. So careful with VoxCom at least for now.
I am not sure if you know this but you need to bargain for extra while signing up. I got extra keypad on upeer level. My neighbour could bargain better he got siren(spekaers) installed at 2 places..one in basement(standard), one in garage+additional smoke-n-CO detector at upper level in addition to additional keypad.
Thanks for the heads up...I know they bargain a bit & thought was limited to extra keypad...but so much....wow
