Hello CD's,
Summary of the problem :
I am located outside the GTA and make long distnce calls to the GTA using my Bell Landline and using 10-10-256 (ALO) long distance provider. They charge around 2.5 cents a min. for US and Canada. Recently my monthly bill for only calling Toronto came to around $17.
Solution needed :
Does any one know what is the cheapest long distance available (That I can use through Bell Landline? We discontinued using phone cards since either the phone card was not good or we misplaced them and could not find it.
Any pointers appricated.

If you already have an active bell line installed, checkout Primus Tel or Yak. Both have good rates. They have a unlimited north american calling also. It is definitely cheaper than bell and no need to call 800 numbers or 10-10 numbers.
I use stanacard. for long distance
www.stanacard.com
I have no issues with them.
and also instead of dialing the wholw number like : 011-91-0000-0000
I just dial a local number -- like 647-000-0000 and it connects me to parents.
I have started using call select - they charge 3.9 c/m to India (land/cell) and 2.5c/m to N America ..... so far so good ... I switched over from Sears Connect.

Fido.
I've read of countless complaints here and there on Comwave, Reliance, Airtel, Globe Telecom, etc. etc. etc. Man, do these companies suck for their dishonesty and pathetic service. Any company that charges you a security deposit without informing you beforehand are crooks! Crooks I say! I haven't tried Comwave yet...and I don't want to because a lot of officemates tell me not to since they charge hidden monthly fees. I'm so careful about giving out my credit card # to these companies because once they have it...WHAM...charges just start to magically appear on your monthly bill. Crooks.
A friend pointed me to G3 Telecom (although I prefer using it's sister company 10-10-ALO - see http://www.1010alo.ca)" rel="nofollow">LINK and they seem to be a lot better than most long distance providers when it somes to rates and customer service. So far so good. No complaints yet. They have prepaid and postpaid services and you pay for only the minutes you use. Right now their rate for India is 7.9¢. And if you're a new customer you qualify for 6.9¢ for 30 days.
I'm not one to advertise companies but hey, if they're good then why not. See http://www.g3telecom.com" rel="nofollow">LINK
