I was a client of Raza while they were operating from across the border. It was painful to get some of their "800" numbers to access then, i.e., to access their systems. Rates were then slightly lower than the services that were available within Canada. Connections had an echo or an hollow sound then. I redialed the number to get a clear line. Some times I even got a few extra minutes from them.
Now they know that there is some life here in Canada too and the ethnic diversity being quite large, and to take care of their needs, they opened up a Branch, to service their client base. When this LD topic was under discussion I posted to the board, telling you all that they were offeering their services at the rate of 2.99 cents/min.
Then they dropped their raates to 1.9c/min. So, I was really happy and couldn't wait to call all of my friends back home.
Start of this year they have a special. Please see the link below. They are offering to you at >1c/m. and with a service charge of $2.99 or so. I cannot tell you how many calls I make and feel very close to the family back home. Any price lower than this will be equal to a Free Call. 100 Minutes for a buck! WOW!
The quality of their service is comparable with any other, as I still have a few bucks left with a few others. I can and I do check others' services too. Currently, I will complain no more. But it is nice to know that some one is using a serve at such and such rate and finds it good or better.
We always say "To Each his Own". So, enjoy doing what ever you want. Use whom so ever you think gives you the best service. But for heaven's sake don't run any company down, because each one has thousands of clients and each one caters to the needs of some one that has taken a liking to their services. So let them all do their own thing and enjoy it to their best.
Now, "Go and do it."
Freddie.

Fido.
I'm in US right now. I use unlimited calling to India using vonage. Is vonage world plan available in Canada? I pay around USD 34 per month.
Only drawback, it is a VOIP so you cannot call from your cell.
