Hi
My computer has been infected by a spyware, and a program named "System Security" has installed itself in the computer without my knowledge. I tried the "Uninstall" option, but was not able to delete this file.
What are the best softwares available for eliminating this kind of programs from the com?
I currently use Rogers Norton Anti-virus protection.

Go to http://www.download.com" rel="nofollow">LINK and search for 'spybot search and destroy' and 'ad-aware'.

Download and install these. Scan your system using these, most probably you will be fine after you clean up what both these software find. If not, you'll have to format the HD and reinstall the OS.

was able to get rid of the spyware named "System Security". I tried out some free anti-spyware SW, they do the scan & detect free of charge, but ask for money to delete & immunize the system.
Finally, was able to do it myself manually by following the instructions as narrated by a desi in this youtube video, really good!!

Also, if you have a valid/legal Windows OS in your system, you can download this SW from Microsoft for free, its a anti-spyware/malware program.

Hi,

I have used Adware, Spybot etc.

None of them are really that good at removing very hard to remove trojans, spyware etc

I even had Symantec Endpoint Protection v11 (corp) edition which has built in spyware removal.

Still no luck.

Then I bought Spyware doctor

and the stuff that it removed was amazing.

The other product which is also very good is Webroot Spy Sweeper http://www.webroot.com/

Again you have to buy it.
