Having said that Acanac is good for heavy users but relies on Bell's service staff ie if something goes wrong , and it is with in the house , you will have to pay for the call .

BE HAPPY KEEP HAPPY
Just got a flyer in the mail from Shawdirect. 49.99 per month for around 250 channels, 1 free HD receiver, no contract.
Another offer is 58.99 for 250+ additional specialty pack channels, plus 175 for 4 HD receivers, no contract.
Just sharing with others. I didn't know about Shaw as an option before.
Anyone had experience with Shaw before?

I'm assuming you live either in ON, QC:
I have had Bell, Acanac (1yr) and Teksavvy DSL in the past and very recently moved to Distributel (Cable): Teksavvy is the best internet provider with almost no drops in more than a year I have used. And if they say up to 5 it will be close to 5. I have recently moved to Distributel as they offered cheaper cable internet and higher speed- so far so good. For DSL modem if you can buy Bell (2wire modem and know how to flash- it's fairly simple) that would work with TSI, or you can buy cheaper on Kijiji and likes.
for home phone I have used Bell, then primus talkbroadband and now on Vonage, while primus was good when they had India landline then added cellphone but with limited minutes, and once, in one month my minutes exceeded and i had to almost pay a double price, I moved to Vonage (if you have high speed internet) and there canada plan is 30$ a month after initial months and you can call india Cell and Landline and many other countries Unlimited. If you want you can PM me and use my reference to get discount for you and for me(I'm not in referring business but an option).
For TV I use Bell Sat, Express Vu with some indian channel like CBN (Cricket), ATN, Sony etc. But you can always get discount.
Hope it's helpful. Thus over all i pay Phone $30+ Internet 8MbPS $38+ TV $40 (with different discounts) = 108+taxes
Cheers,
~K

For Internet / Home Phone, I am thinking Teksavvy (website always down :-( ), acanac or primus. Any experiences, or other alternatives? Anyone used freephoneline.ca?
Acanac has a 75$ modem charge as well as 50$ activation fee,
All options & suggestions welcome!
