I have only one golden phrase to say here
ALL THAT WE ARE TODAY IS THE RESULT OF WHAT WE HAVE THOUGHT
Think positive, believe in your wishes, (yes thats very very important) and work towards what you strongly wish for, your wishes will start becoming true.
Good luck

Hi, This is my view. I (from experience in Canada for the past 7 years) feel this way. I am giving it in points.
1. The more time you stay, the less the liklihood of you going back (though you may want to, it would be impossible as time goes by as you loose all your confidence, money, sense of security, have more family burdens etc...).
2. It is very hard in Canada to see free money (unless by CCTB, Univ. Childcare, GST/PST Credit). Having been unemployed and on EI for 6 months now, I have tried all avenues to get some solid spending money from the govt. The result is zero , Nada, Zip. No wonder they say "Cash is King" here.
Only thing they offer is unlimited free resume checking, free seminars on networking, getting jobs etc... They also offer 1 hour free internet, 20 pages free photocopy , 30 pages free printing and free local phone for job calls.
3. Food banks dispense uncooked food for immigrants. Non Visible people get more food than visible minorities.
4. The best professions are IT and Finance. 95% of other professions are just garbage. Donot belive if anyone says to the contrary.
5. The economy is in a very bad shape. The earliest that you may get a job in your line is After the summer of 2010. These days it is even very hard to get $10 per hour labour jobs outside the GTA.
6. It is a struggle for most people here. after paying for your car, gas, food, rent, cloths etc.. you generally would not have any money to spend. Going to India for vacation and back costs $1600 + for one person. Gifts and other expenses are extra.
7. Canada needs immigrants for works that locals would not do. So they go to any extent to persuade you to stay and spend your tax dollars here
Hope this helps.
All the best.
Peace by TK

Soon it will be 10 years since I came here. Life here has had it's challenges (I'd rather use this word, than "problem"
. During these years, I have seen numerous messages on this forum, dealing with "going back". Frankly, I am not surprised. However, I would like to commend the OP not going the path of abuses and brickbats to express his frustration.
The old cliche goes that "there are 2 sides to a coin". I have seen many who have had the same dilemma, went back and returned here for what they believed was the quality of life. Before long I will have my detractors who will question my point of view, but that's OK. Dissent is fun!
Frankly, there are no easy answers, and I am assuming the OP is still in Canada. First of all, you must do an assessment of YOUR priorities. Not one wee bit of what we write here, will matter. Each one has his unique situation, and while some use their head, some use their heart, when it comes to life impacting decisions. Weigh your options, in the light of your age, your expectations, your family (and the kind of support you might get), and most importantly, what your short and long term goals are.
If you decide to stay here, you can always go back anytime...... even though some may say that, sometimes it might be too late to return. On the other hand, if you decide to go back, you might lose your status here (then again, whether this will impact you, will depend on how lady luck treats you when you go back). Whatever your decision and circumstances, do not beat yourself, if were not right.
No one can predict the future. We base our decisions, on our understanding of what might come.We do things in right faith, and while most of the time it may be right, you might end doing the wrong thing too, No matter what, you must take it in a stride and go on with life.
Good luck in your endeavor.

Reading your post it does seem that you seem to prefer to live in India. Maybe too soon to think abt children..Canada may be better for your wife. If you feel life is kind to women in India think again. There is always the risk of leaving the house on your own after the dark, misbehavior in crowded places or even non crowded places ( ppl may not tell you but this is a daily occurence), possible biases in theworkplace. The sense of security here is far more for women. Also, I dont think I would like to go back to waiting 3-4 hours in a traffic jam to visit family and friends.
