so the next available date they offered me for court trail is in May 2011. Which is kind of good for me. I read somewhere long time back that there is usually a time period they have to look into the tickets. Passing that time, your ticket gets dismissed, null and void.
So what is that time period, does anyone know?
You did not take up the offer.
You did not take the offer for 0 points and 85$. Now if you are convicted in the trial they will hit you with the full 3 points and whatever the fine was (reductions will not be offered)
Better hire a good lawyer or prepare to pay.. wait.. the laywer will probably end up charging more..
Cross your fingers and pray that the cop does now show up...
In the city i live the cops lose 7 hours of OT if they do not show up in court as it is revenue loss
Conviction shows up on your record after MTO receives information from the local court (Provincial Offences Court)
It stays on your record for 24 months after that..
The rule for Trail date is 12 months. If they decide to change your date (not you request it) and if is 12 months after the last scheduled trail date then you can get away with this (rarely happens)
