The reason is that Canada immigration does not show true picture to the outside world. If true picture is shown then people will stop migrating which will be a financial loss to the govt.

Here is the problem.
"India has very good masons, carpenters but they are not educated and cannot qualify for immigration. Also there are very good scientists, engineers in India but they won't get job here"

I think, it is a two-way traffic. While Canadian government does share a blame for misrepresenting the job scenario, how many people are still willing to immigrate to Canada even after knowing the perils of immigrating to this country? A website like CD is very useful in getting information about the real picture, but if you search messageboard, you will still see people ready to take the plunge even after seeing the complete picture.

I do not know how this "approved worker skill class" program by Immigration Canada is helpful in relieving the aggravation faced by new immigrants.

Good scientists/engineer in India have difficult finding a job here because it is purely a supply/demand scenario. Looking at the shift in manufacturing industry, an engineer has a better chance finding a job in India than in Canada.

CIC website should openly publish the true picture in Canada. It should clearly mention that only labour is needed in Canada. Educated people should be given immigration only if they get a job offer from Canada else they should not qualify.

I agree with this.

http://www.ospe.on.ca/pdf/CCE_OctNovSpeakingOut.pdf

"Growing evidence suggests that the demand for engineering jobs in Canada, particularly in Toronto, is outpacing the supply, resulting in an increase of trained engineers either becoming unemployed, underemployed or working in areas not related to engineering.
This increased imbalance has had a significant impact on the engineering
profession. As a result, increased numbers of engineers, recent immigrants
and recent graduates are forced to take jobs that do not make appropriate use of their education and experience."

If you look at the 29 eligible occupations under the federal skilled worker program, you will notice many are not your regular "professional" jobs.

I disagree with your word "labour". I think, service, health, education and tourism sector might see an increase in demand for "skilled labour". However, the entire fence of "Canadian experience" needs to be broken, and maybe companies should invest in training new employees, rather then putting them in the front row from day 1.

Looking at our healthcare system, I think we need some drastic reforms to mend it. Perhaps a two-tier system like India might help.

meghal,
wishful thinking,
you want a system similar to the indian medical scenario in canada?

Btw its already there, you can call and find more about it from Danny Williams,

only people who dont have money stand in a line, you know like the story 'animal farm' where some people are more equal

Dannyboy went to US to have his heart surgery. That is true for any Canadian who can afford to fly outside Canada. I am talking about two-tier system within Canada, something that Alberta is mulling about.

I agree. A job offer and acceptance should be a condition for PR. Similar to US immigration.
