my Advice to Every1.
- Think a lot before moving to India after living in canada for couple of years.
Its like grass on the other side always looks greener.
My suggestion:
If you have a complete family(or can bring family to canada), then canada is a very good country good to live in.
My question to the people who says everything is available in India:
- Tell me the metro city where i can get clean environment, water, air by spending money.
- How many people in India even with 10 lakhs salary can afford to buy luxury cars or SUV which even a medium class family in canada can afford?
- How much safe life is in India? If you are new driver and do not know about the condition of roads, then Good luck buddy.

You are probably correct manty.
Yes the basic difference is civic sense that does not exist in India.
The government is inefficient and the country does not have qualified politicians on their ranks.
Things are changing but in a wrong direction. This is not sustainable development.
Our rivers and waters are polluted and there is presently no way to reverse the effect.
I am in Noida these days for a short period. I used to live here in 2006 before moving to UK. At that time there were lesser roads here but little or no traffic jams. Today I can't even think of crossing Noida without being in a jam. What seems to have happened is, there are more roads now but even more auto and cycle rickshaws blocking these roads. Well this is just an example. There are problems galore here.
In 2003 there was a 2hr planned power cut in Ghaziabad. Now it is 8hrs daily.
Apathy and more apathy.
Couple of days back I was in a usual traffic jam in Delhi and saw an emergency ambulance struggling to find way between the traffic. Nobody seemed to be giving way to the ambulance. It was anyway not possible because in the 3 lane road at least 6 lines of vehicles were cruising together at 10 kmh. When the ambulance reached me I attempted to give way but only to be abused by fellow vehicle drivers behind.
Can this ever happen in Canada/UK? I bet no.
I have loads of such incidents that I have picked up on my short trip to India.
yes thats right there is civic sense.
Resources in India are getting depleted at a fast rate and think of the future.
and yes here in india sometimes i give preference to pedestrian on road..and people honk a lot..but i dont care about them.
and regarding web2000.
When u compare, u should take an average earning person as your baseline. In this developed country, is it possible for a person (Who earns $8-$9 per hour) to live alone in an apartment. It will be hard for him to feed his family.
my Answer: First we should not be comparing the salary with those who are earning 8$ or 9$ those are newcomers job.. i dont think its averge earning.
and one will be in trauma in india as well...if he/she doesnt get the job.
Thought to write on this topic...
We were in Edmonton,Alberta last year from Sep2008-July2009.Stayed there for almost 10months..
Regarding Canada,I can say its the most beautiful place on earth. But due to the recession there were absolutely no jobs available..
We as a family of three, survived for those months. But as husband got a very good job offer from Mumbai, after long debates,we finally decided to come to Mumbai.
Now we are happy with the job situation here, but as rightly stated by many,India or especially Mumbai is place full of pollution, population and dirt...Plus there is too much choas in the education system...
So really we are always reconsidering whether we took the right decision.
Time will only give us the correct answer and direction to this dilemma...
Thanks,
