I agree with Immigration Canada. Most desis particularly pakis file the sponsorship by marrying Canadian raised girls for the purpose of sponsorshiping the clan. Why are parents dying to come here and take shortcuts to bypass the promises of 10 yrs to rely on the gov't and become a health care burden. They are of no economic benefit. Their children can easily visit them and support them back home. Why are they trying to come to destroy the Canadian economy and become a burden on tax payers utilizing the healthcare system. Parent sponsorship should be eliminated altogether not just delayed. Jason Kenney has to look out for Canadian citizens and the economy not open doors to destroy the economy.
This wouldn't have been a big issue if immigrants paid for their parents health insurance.
Also remember, this is an election year.

It is not much of a tax break or benefit like 15% which doesn't equate to much after the amount spent on hosting the parents. Plus it is stupid to bring elders and deprive them of their social lives in South Asia. What you send back home is a fraction or the amount you may get in a tax break. It is pointless to demand Parent's sponsorship to be sped when it already takes 8-10 years. They add no value to the economy and if it was such a big deal to leave them behind then why bother come to Canada or using means such as fake degrees or marriages with Canadian nationals to seek Canadian status. I think Parent Sponsorship should be eliminated altogether. It is not fair for tax paying citizens to be robbed of pension and health benefits when they actually contributed and desis to come in and shrewdly alter the sytem for their benefit.
The so called health benefits (for the boomers) are financed by those very immigrants , who want to sponsor their parents.
Regarding fake degrees, CIC can verify before allowing immigrants and marriages with canadian citizens - the law can be changed if the marriage fails (to deport the party concerned).

Family unification is an integral part of the Canadian immigration which can not be denied. Taking care of parent is a matter of cultural values which everyone doesn’t have.
