Hi All,
I'm currently evaluating a job offer from a firm in Vancouver, it's in ERP domain. I appreciate, if you guys comment whether it's on par with current market rate or not, or whether I should re-consider it.
Briefly about me, 10 years of experience in development / consulting and project management in ERP domain. Currently drawing a salary of around USD 67K in Hong Kong. What I have been offerd is CAD 150K/ annum , plus the standard medical benefits, my role would will involve consulting and project management.

About my lifestyle, nothing special, will be moving along with my wife, for initial period will be renting an apartment near office, eating out once a week.

It is a great offer, if it is true.
For 150K , you can live like a king in Canada.
I am sure that seniors will also support my point. Just blindly accept it. In this recession time, it is hard to get a offer like that.

hello all,

I am coming to Canada soon, I just had some queries so i thought i would get some answers here.
I have done my Hotel management degree and i would like to know where are good opportunities in Canada?
Is there any course that i will have to do before i start working.
What is a Cook ticket? Which universities give that ticket? Is there a course which i will have to do to get that ticket?

Hotel managment is a very scarce field to get a job in Canada, but then please come here and let your job go to some local in India who does not want to go abroad.

Are you assuming that the individual is currently in India, or do you know something that I don't.

I had met a guy called Yash Luthra who had done his schooling from Dubai and he had done his Hotel Management from Switzerland. He had come to Canada and he got a car sales certificate from George Brown and working at Erin Mills Mazda. I don't know where he is now. during the course of chatting he mentioned there is no good opportunities for HM in Canada. This was in 2010 4th qrtr.
