I dont think the people up here know what they are talking about. I am a Software Project Manager and in all my search for Project Management position 4 in 5 are Architecture/Construction Project Management. There is a lot of scope for these roles. Go to Indeed.ca and search for Project Manager. You can survey where there is higher demand and consider your next move accordingly. Best of Luck!
Software project managers earns excess of $ 40 or $ 50 an hour.
Architectural project managers (Desi or non whites without Gulf experience) can get as low as $ 15 an hour.
there is a lot of difference between software engineers and Architectural project managers.
in 2011 I was getting around $ 20 an hour as a project manager. The main reason why I was getting more was that I diversified from Architecture to Construction (Glazing) and hence I was paid more.
Peace

Keep your family here in Canada and continue to earn in Middle east. I would consider that to be the same option my watchman opted for when he took up a job in Mumbai.
Wife and kids in Nepal and self in Mumbai. Visit them once in a while. What is the meaning of life where is the family focus?. Are you trading your time for money? There is only one life to live and that is the present. So make the most of it by being with the family where ever you are.
Hi arqk17 - sorry to steal your thread. Since, the topic is specific to project management/coordination I thought i would post my query here.
My husband is back in Canada since July 4th and is searching for software testing job. I'm coming to Toronto with my daughter on 9th September. I'm a mechanical engineer with 7+yrs exp in product development in manufacturing & engineering services environment. I have passed PMI's CAPM certification recently and planning to do a course in MS project. I have also started learning French and typing online. Will a Microsoft office certification be helpful? Thought certifications on the resume would help in getting called for interviews, hence the certification spree! Anything else that I could do to get a head start in job market in Toronto?
