Hi CD's

After looking around at almost 5 neighbourhoods we have finalized Davisville. We have submitted application and hopefully should move there in a week.
Anybody living around that area?

It is a very nice neighborhood.

In my search for the elementary schools, the reports were nil or non existent. But here is one that I generated and it does not come up to my standards. Please see if that is the closest one. If you can find a better one go for it. Also, they might improve over the next two years.

It is classed as an higher end neighborhood. Enjoy the same while you can.

FH.

Good choice. It is a very 'gora' area though lot of East Europeans (the hard working kind) live there. The area will be expensive so shop in the cheap area and live a king's live in Davisville. You may miss Tamilian's /Indian's there but it will be a decent life for a professional couple such as you.
Hope you are close to the Davisvill Subway station.
In the 2004, One of the girls (East European) lived in that area. It was hard to get rental accomodation then there as it was full and a premium area. Also in those days, a couple with a child should rent only a 2 bed apt. there. So she lied that she was a single parent and got the accomodation and then lived with her husband.
I am sure that these days, it will be easy to get rental apts. there as immigration has gone down and people have moved out to own houses / apts.. Refugee's can't afford that area.
All the best and do update us on your progress.
Can you tell us want rent you will be paying and also the apartment type (1 bed, basement etc..)

Peace by Murali.

Hi FH,

You are right, that's the school near to the apartment. Rating doesn't look great, but there is still time to put my daughter to school. We may move to a different area before that.

Hi TK,

This place was actually suggested by my husband's Indian colleague. He says there are lot of Indians around there and I did see some when I went to look at the apartment. Its only a 3 minute walk to the subway. Our apartment is a Jr 1 BR 1190+Hydro. The size is not great, but enough for us now.

Watch out for bed bugs in those buildings.

I have known a few ex colleagues move out of those apartments because of space restrictions, but that's not an issue for you .. Conveniently located and good place other wise .
