Renew Indian Passport v/s Getting Canadian Passport

Thanks for your replies guys.

I talked to Indian Passport Office and they say it will take 2 months to renew Indian Passport.

In case of emergency they can do it but it has to be only "medical emergency".

Regarding Canadian Oath - all people who gave test with me in Dec 2013 - got date for Jan End for Oath Ceremony and i was being told by that CIC lady that i will get letter within 2 weeks and my oath ceremony would be in January or at the most Feb.

I am still in dilemma what to do. I might plan to visit CIC center and talk to them face to face to see if they can at least expedite my Oath Ceremony so that i can at least get my citizen certificate and then can apply for passport and indian visa (which may take 15 days altogether but atleast i will be sure to get it).

You are missing surrender processing time !

Alternate option : Apply for Canadian Passport, if you get oath in Jan. Travel on Indian PP and pay the penalty CAD 180.

This is a bad option. He will have to face Indian authorities while coming back since he will have to show the Canadian passport to travel back to Canada (without Indian visa). There will be much more than just paying $180.00

Boss ,

Your Indian Passport expired 4 weeks ago and you did not think of renewing it before that ...Why ??

What if you have to travel in the interim on an emergency .... ?

Worst comes , claim a medical emergency in India amongst relatives and get Passport renewed emergent .

I am not sure if you can meet CIC on your own or request an expediting of process/es ..I do not think there s any provision for that .
