Last week, my friend showed me an eyewear something like this but from Samsung https://www.derivative.ca/wiki088/index.php?title=Oculus_Rift

Have you used anything similar to that (say Google cardboard), how do you feel about it.

I find it attractive, if not very expensive I am thinking of giving a shot at this.

I bought a Google Cardboard couple of months ago. The apps are pretty limited, so does the functionality. Well, I didn't expect it to do wonders when bought for only $20, but still it had to provide some NEW experience, which it failed to do so and is now biting a dust in some corner of my house. I don't think Google is taking Cardboard/VR any seriously. They have a knack of abandoning their products midway (i.e. upgrades). This is not different. Anyhow!

I even tested some other VRs and not quite impressed. Until it becomes mainstream and have more quality content, media, movies, concert series, etc, I am not putting my money on it. I don't even follow any VR News anymore. To me, the hype resembles with that of 3D TVs. Will soon be a gong show.

I did not test with video but with some pictures. It was OK (Samsung).
You seem to get some VRs for about $40 from amazon.ca. Wish I get'em in best buy so that I could use and return.

For now, not worth a single penny. Even where it is deemed to be best suited (you know what I am talking about), I didn't find it good either :).
