Dear Massoodji, I would appreciate your advice on the following. Could someone else please advise in case Massoodji is on leave.
1. What happens if a newly landed immigrant decides to get married to someone back in India? Does he/she have to wait or get a job or any such mandatory requirement? Could the parents of landed immigrant help in this regard?
2. Can he/she bring spouse to Canada ? After what period? What requirements? Is there any website that gives guidelines?
3. A number of canadiandesis have recently got married after landing in Canada. Would appreciate if they would like to share information about the procedure .
4. Incidentally, I am asking this on behalf of someone else, so please don't jump to conclusions .
Regards, Margo

1. sponsor the spouse after marriage, for spouses and dependant children there is no minimum income requirement...
2. the official source is ALWAYS the best source...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/index.html
1a. You can sponsor your wife. No income needed. You have to be residing in Canada to be eligible to sponsor.
1b. parents cannot help.
2. he/she cannot bring spouse to Canada on a visitor's visa. Have to be via sponsorship which takes between 6-24 weeks [New Delhi]
