Sir,
I will be visiting Toronto in Janury, 2005. I will stay for about a month and will return after collecting PR cards. Kindly reply my questions as under.
1. Can I drive in Ontario on an international driving license.
2. Will one month stay be enough to get PR cards, SIN, temporary driving license, health cards etc.
3. Is there any services available for immigrants who could provide me a one room accomodation for my self, wife and 2 kids with common kitchen on reasonable / nominal charges.
Regards,
yes for all your points and and lots of people advertising for cheap accomodation.
err... re: 2
current processing time for new pr cards is 30 days, plus mailing time... so one month *may* not be enough... could be plus minus couple of weeks... you could get it in as little as 3 weeks, but then again, it could also be 5...

current processing time for sin is 4 weeks (including mailing time)...
as far as ohip card is concerend, i dont know the latest processing times, but last i heard, new cards were taking 5 weeks to mail out... could be wrong...
OHIP card is mailed when you are about to complete 3 months in Ontario. It usually arrives by the end of 3rd month even if you apply early. You will also require proof of address like bank statement (usually mailed once a month) or Ontario driving license to apply for OHIP.
