have not yet moved to canada yet . am planning to move by next year from US to canada. Am wondering why do the new immigrants join universities while they look for jobs. That is the why immigration happens in US (except during the tech boom)
Education at university level is very costly. Yearly it will cost 15000 Cd$ on an average. On top of that living cost would be around $24000 for a small family.
Who would have $40,000 = 12 Lakh Ruppes to support this?
Thanks for your response. I should rephrase my query. The usual way to join US univ is to get financial aid in the form of TA / RA / GA. Isn't this the way that Candian universities function. If financial aid is available - then all that is needed are good GRE / GMAT scores and good engineering credentials and maybe tution fee for the first semester. Am sure that quite a few indians who have landed to canada from india / other countries can do well in univ and get financial aid.
I have done my engineering from IIT in india - MS from NY(on financial aid / scholarship) and have got around five years of work ex. Am wondering if it makes sense for me to do a full time / part time MBA from canada and search for a job in Canada. Will there be any jobs after graduation?
The most of the immigrants who land here think they are well educated and dont want to educate themselves. They try for Job initially in their feild when they dont get they land up in some odd jobs, but they dont consider higher education. Infact there are many programs for the residents like OSAP which gives loan for higher education, u dont have to pay them if u dont get a job in that feild. I think many Indians feel that its a burden to take loan and they suffer a lot. so fellow Indians dont hesitate to Educate ur selves try ur best u can do it.
