I want to start from Derry Road and Goreway Drive in Mississauga and go to King Street West in Kitchener. I looked up Yahoo and Mappoint maps. Yahoo map suggests taking the ETR 407 and then taking 401. Mappoint suggests taking 401 near Pearson Airport.
Both suggest that I will reach Kitchener in about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
1. How much extra time should I allow if I start on a weekday morning at 8 AM?
2. If I have take 401 anyway what is point in taking ETR 407 first? Will it save time?

You should go west on Derry Road till Mavis Road and then take Hwy 401 west and take exit number 278 for Hwy 8 which will take you to King Street West in around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Generally there is not much rush towards going Kitchener on weekdays as you are driving against the traffic flow, but if you are going for some important occasion like an Interview etc., give yourselves extra 30 minutes atleast because of some unexpected road blockage/traffic congestion or depending on weather conditions.

Yahoo maps always takes 407 ETR - I think they have some sort of commission deal going with 407
When we came to Toronto the first time, Yahoo was taking us through 407 to go anywhere - needless to say, I wasted a lot of $$$ following their dumb directions.

Yeah.. try http://www.mapquest.com" rel="nofollow">LINK they usually don't go for 407 ETR.. also if they ask you to use 407.. you can use Highway 7.. which goes almost parallel to 407.
BEST OF LUCK for the interview Raj!.. Even if you manage to reach the destination before time you can still find a Tim Hortons close by to relax and get some coffee to refresh yourself.
I always used to go to the interview place a couple of days before just to see the place in advance.. sometimes its hard to find a place even when you get there.. just a suggestion..
