Would like to take the opinion of the forum. What is the cut-off age in your opinion for someone to make a beginning in Canada? I have a PR card which will be valid for 2 more years but I am unable to decide whether I should quit a lucrative Middle East job and shift to Canada. Basically been discouraged by a lot of negative posts in a number of fora and also due to the fact that I am already 45 year old. I am a Chemical Enginner with refinery experience .

My opinion:
45 is too late to start a life in Canada.
A) if I can squeeze another ten years (whoa, thats a lot) in the ME, I would not hesitate in giving up my PR status of Canada.
B) if I have a total of million CAD by the end of two years from now, I will consider keeping my PR status and retire in Canada after 2 years.
There is another "miserable" option too. Stay in ME and send your wife and kids in Canada for three years and let them get a passport. Let them join you after that time, and your wife can sponsor you anytime in your life for Canada again.
